N.B. Cook
Artists Featured on Medical Vans
More than
sixty students in N.B. Cook Elementary's 1st – 5th grades submitted artwork
about nutrition, physical activity, and dental health. Eight judges from the
health department and the school district chose 17 Featured Artists whose work
was painted on two new Mobile Medical Clinics. The students saw their life-sized
artwork for the first time on Wednesday May 28. All of the students at the
school got to tour the two new Mobile Clinics.

About the Mobile Clinics
The Dental Mobile Clinic will be used to reach more children in schools where
the Health Department provides dental care throughout the year. The Dental
Mobile Clinic rotates to as many schools as possible throughout the year. For
more information about the Dental Mobile Clinic Program, call 595-6500.
The Medical Mobile Clinic will have several uses. The Health Department will be
able to provide services – such as immunizations and communicable disease
services — to parts of the county where there are not Health Department
facilities. During disasters, the mobile unit can serve as an on-scene first-aid
unit or as a command unit serving health and medical workers across the county
or region. The Health Department is still firming up the locations and services
that the Medical Mobile Clinic will provide, but the mobile clinic will likely
be linked with work in immunizations and communicable disease services in areas
targeted by the Health Department's work.
