Healthy Start
Healthy Start provides services that help participants have a healthy baby
and then to be the best parent they can. The program was established to
help reduce infant deaths and the number of low-birth weight babies.
- All services are provided at no cost.
- You qualify for this program by filling out a simple
questionnaire at your doctor’s office.
Some of the services available to participants are:
- Home visits by health professionals
- Childbirth classes
- Nutrition education
- Breastfeeding support and education
- Parenting support and education
- Counseling services
- Family planning
- Transportation assistance
- Access to and Coordination of other community services
- Smoking cessation support and education
- Specialized services for substance exposed infants
